Work in Progress

My ongoing research involves the development of designs for theatrical presentations usually presented in non-traditional venues. To this end I have initiated a project with long-time collaborator R. Murray Schafer. Asterion, a text developed by Schafer, describes a series of interconnected performance spaces in the form of a complex labyrinth through which a spectator/participant moves alone, encountering a number of archetypical personae, live and sculpted, scenes, and installations that combine to create a transformative experience.

Summer 2003: beginning of the design process/meetings with the team that we are assembling to realize this work.

Fall 2003: Application submitted to the new SSHRC Fine Arts Creation Program (unsuccesful but considered appropriate)

Summer 2004: 12 day workshop with graduate students and members of the general public. (see 2004 Research Report)

Fall 2004: Application submitted to the new SSHRC Fine Arts Creation Program (succesful $220,000)
